PUMA launches limited-edition Emirates-inspired collection designed by local artists
Global sports brand PUMA announced the launch of its new drop, in collaboration with local designers Hala Al Qasibi and Noora Makki. The limited-edition RS-X 07 footwear, boasts a design inspired by the sands and spirit of the seven Emirates and will be sold exclusively at Dubai Mall and PUMA.com.
Following a design competition held at Sole DXB in 2022 – Dubai’s renowned annual cultural and creativity event, PUMA had invited designers and artists to participate for the opportunity to have their designs featured in a limited-edition collection, with the finalists chosen by the public – designers Hala Al Qasibi and Noora Makki, students at the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI).
Both chosen and designed by the local community, the RS-X 07 collection is a celebration of the culture and country, drawing on the UAE itself and infusing imagination and innovation with local talent. The RS-X 07 illustrates the country’s landscapes, incorporating materials, patterns, colors associated with its diverse culture and heritage.
Commenting on the creative process, designer Noora Makki said: “Throughout the design process, it was important for us to form a sense of unity and have that reflected clearly in the final product.”
Discussing the inspiration, Hala Al Qasibi commented saying: “The fact that we have an opportunity like this, and we could design a shoe that represents so much of ourselves and our culture, I think was the best thing that could have happened in our journey.”

Designed by the people and brought to life by PUMA, the RS-X 07 drop is an ode to local creativity and talent. The limited 100 pairs drop is available exclusively at the PUMA Dubai Mall store and PUMA.com.
