Saint Laurent Summer 2020 Collection

For the Saint Laurent Summer 2020 collection, Anthony Vaccarello envisions the spirit of Rive Gauche and its elegant masculine-feminine tailoring.

Graphic variations of the caban paired with shorts and high boots graze the knees. Long fluid dresses, burnished gold embroideries from the Seventies precede a symphony of elaborate black tuxedos. Smoky chiffon or asphalt-like shine.

A sharp take on Saint Laurent classics devised to strengthen individuality.

Past and present are layered together to create a timeless silhouette, an imaginary voyage.

«It’s a Rive Gauche way of seeing clothes, a combination of the most iconic codes. Saint Laurent is as much about attitude as it is spectacle» Anthony Vaccarello

TORY BURCH.. FALL WINTER 20

“This Fall/Winter 2020, we were inspired by Francesca DiMattio’s sculptures. Her work imbues the decorative with strength and power.

Wedding-dress beads and basket weaving, often dismissed as mere decorations, transform into imposing structures, blurring what’s man-woman, old-new, high-low.

DiMattio challenges the traditional norms of femininity. I remembered from studying art history how the work of Judith Leyster, one of the great Dutch Masters, was misattributed after her death

simply because she was a woman. It’s a struggle that women artists have faced throughout history and still do to this day.” –  Tory Burch

Alexander McQueen Womenswear Spring-Summer 2020 Collection

“Each look tells its own story. The connection between the clothes is the time it took to make them. I was interested in clarity and paring things down, in the essence of garments – stripping back to the toile. I love the idea of people having the time to make things together, the time to meet and talk together, the time to reconnect with the world.”

LANVIN – SLUMBERLAND Spring Summer 2020 Collection

Slumberland, LANVIN’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection pays homage to Little Nemo, a hero emerging from the deepest of dreams.

Created by illustrator Winsor McCay in 1905, the adventures of Little Nemo in Slumberland appeared as a weekly comic strip in the New York Herald that portrayed the escapades of a young boy who had fantastical adventures in his dreams. Bruno Sialelli’s own childhood memories in the south of France often resonated with Nemo, where nothing was impossible, full of happiness, fantasy and dreams. This world is perfectly aligned with the story of Maison Lanvin; a house that began with Jeanne Lanvin drawing clothes for her dear daughter Marguerite.

For his Spring/Summer 2020 collection its 64 looks for men and women Bruno Sialelli adds a new chapter to the Lanvin story. In addition to Nemo, he revisits the elegance of the 1950s-60s and its Swans, as Truman Capote called them. Veritable goddesses of

style, these jet-setters such as Lee Radziwill and Babe Paley strutted their elegance from the Hamptons to the Riviera with irresistible effortlessness.
