Hubert de Givenchy wasn’t just a defining icon of 20th-century fashion; he also embodied a truly French “art de vivre,” a lifestyle that was both aristocratic and completely irreverent. Whether at his Hôtel Particulier in Paris or the Château du Jonchet in the Loire valley, his residences were always havens of refined décor through which paraded a swarm of eclectic guests: muses, artists, and friends from every background would come together to create the most inspirational entourage.
La Collection Particulière is an invitation to explore this unique world: its exceptional fragrances are scent portraits of the singular personalities that brought the mansion to life. The Hôtel Particulier’s timelessness gave rise to the entire Collection’s perfumes – today, it is in its gardens, which were inspired by the Château du Jonchet park, that we find the three newest fragrances.
LES JARDINS PARTICULIERS, A PROMENADE THROUGH ELEGANT FRESHNESS
When Hubert de Givenchy first laid eyes on the 17th-century Château du Jonchet, he instantly fell in love with it. It would become the crux of his passion for French-style gardens. Inspired by the traditions of symmetry and harmony that define this type of landscape, he transformed the park into a place of breathtaking beauty: every single plant and tree was exactly where it belonged, the overall effect approaching perfect equilibrium. A feeling of sophistication emanated from the grounds, which mingled appealingly with the freshness provided by lush greenery.
This is the spirit that the House of Givenchy infused into La Collection Particulière’s three newest Eaux de Parfum: L’Enfant Terrible, Tapageur, and Désobéissant are illustrations of the bold characters one might meet when strolling through the gardens. Wild elegance, singular character, and refreshing originality are what define these fragrances.
Together, the three perfumes – which make up the Intense Fresh olfactory family – stand out thanks to their fresh signatures that are both powerful and refined, all with unparalleled longevity. A duet of crisp citruses and precious woods express a majestic chiaroscuro enhanced by singular, unexpected notes.
One ingredient binds all three compositions together: SFE* black tea, obtained through CO2 extraction fromblack tea leaves that were harvested, sorted and dried by hand in the Sri Lankan mountains. The exceptional purity of these leaves, which were grown in the country that produces the world’s finest-quality tea, is what defines the Jardins Particuliers collection – the hallmark of an intense and sophisticated new freshness.

L’ENFANT TERRIBLE
This fragrance is the Les Jardins Particuliers’ most irreverent guest, one that breaks every rule. It was named after Hubert de Givenchy’s own personality – he was known as Haute Couture’s “Enfant terrible”. The couturier was both an aristocratic gentleman and a rebellious prodigy who liked to defy conventions.
In his honour, L’Enfant Terrible unfurls an unconventional olfactory signature. The fragrance showcases the radiance of bergamot from Calabria, whose essence is fractionated to preserve its noblest, most vivid notes. The citrus’ floral, juicy freshness contrasts with the dry, vibrant woody power of an upcycled cedar essence – a testament to a luminous, memorable sillage. L’Enfant Terrible therefore reveals an intense, refined fragrance as enveloping as a second skin.
The new composition can be layered with Accord Particulier, the signature fragrance of La Collection Particulière.Made of the House’s key olfactory ingredients – rose, vetiver, patchouli, and ambrox – Accord Particulier can be worn alone or combined with the Collection’s other fragrances to heighten their character, texture, and depth. When layered with Accord Particulier, L’Enfant Terrible becomes all the more contrasting and vibrant… In short, even more impertinent.
TAPAGEUR
An exuberant personality and a flair for scandal… Tapageur – meaning boisterous – has no intention of blending in. Its presence instantly makes itself known through the sparkling notes of green mandarin. This citrus opening contrasts with the softness of sandalwood, which reveals warm, balsamic, and creamy facets. Next is a surprise ingredient: a fraction of orange blossom obtained through CO2 extraction – a pure, delicate and elegant quality with fresh, honeyed accents. Everyone who encounters Tapageur is struck by the intensity at the citrus heart of the composition.
Tapageur gets deeper and even more powerful when combined with Accord Particulier, making the fragrance all the more captivating.
DÉSOBÉISSANT
Désobéissant – meaning disobedient – will not be tamed. It does what it wants – a rebel to the bone. This fragrance sets the tone immediately thanks to a bright citron that reveals luminous, tangy facets. The citron creates an unexpected duet with Scots pine, which diffuses woody, aromatic, resinous, and almost amber notes. And because Désobéissant never does what we expect, it unveils an overdose of cardamom essence, a fresh, spiced, and slightly camphor tone that brings the composition to new, chic, and modern heights.
When layered with Accord Particulier, Désobéissant is released from all inhibitions, becoming even more intense, vivid, and textured. It seems to double in temerity.
ICONIC, REFINED CASES
Vivid orange for Enfant Terrible, leaf green for Désobéissant, sunny yellow for Tapageur… These fresh colours are a nod to the hero ingredients in each new fragrance, now magnified in La Collection Particulière’s signature bottle.
This statement piece – all architectural lines and refined details – epitomises Givenchy elegance. Its lacquered black cap is sealed with a metallic 4G logo and rests atop a silver ring. It can be customised with one of four textured variations.
The emblematic bottle is now available in a brand new 50ml format for the three Les Jardins Particuliers fragrances and four of the Collection’s essential perfumes (Accord Particulier, Trouble-fête, Garçon manqué, and Cœur Fou). A distillation of pure luxury to carry around with you.
