F.P.Journe presents the FFC, which joins the Classique Collection in exclusive production.
The concept of the FFC was born out of a discussion between François-Paul Journe and the renowned filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, who lends his initials to this creation. During a dinner shared in 2012, the American filmmaker brought up the following question: “Has a watchmaker ever tried to represent time on the five fingers of a hand, the way the ancients used to count the hours?”. After 2 years of reflection and 7 years of development, the FFC Blue prototype came to life to participate in the Only Watch 2021 auction
FFC – Calibre 1300.3
Thanks to the torque of the automatic Octa movement and a remontoir d’égalité that delivers a constant force, every 60 minutes, activated by a series of cams and levers, the fingers of this Titanium hand come to life, appearing or disappearing instantaneously to indicate the time according to their positions. Not less than 16 hours of a meticulous work are necessary for an artist engraver to sculpt the curves, give relief and life to this demanding metal. The ultimate technical achievement is the finesse of this mechanism, which is housed in a Platinum case measuring 42 mm in diameter and 10.7 mm thick, which is strictly the same as an Automatique equipped with the same calibre 1300.3!
