The transformation of Fall brings a new treasure to The Alchemist’s Garden, Gucci’s collection of luxury fragrances. Capturing luminosity and intensity through a Damascena Rose and Oud composition, A Reason To Love eau de parfum is the latest fragrance to join this precious collection born from the encounter of Creative Director Alessandro Michele and Master Perfumer Alberto Morillas.
The Fragrance and Packaging
A union of Damascena Rose, Oud Accord, and Tolu Balsam delivers sensuality and warmth. Honeyed top notes of Damascena Rose, Peony, and Cardamom light up the senses with a combination of florals and spice. Oud Accord’s precious woods reveal a rich, ambery heart, while Tolu Balsam adds a resinous vanillic base.
Its lacquered, black flacon–gilded with a solar totem known as the sun in splendor–seals the scent with a symbol of passion, vitality, and the promise of an everlasting fire.
Layering Tips
Bottling the essence of nature into sublime distillations, the customizable compositions are designed to be layered together, each building from a hero ingredient that shifts and magnifies its character when paired with other fragrances. The beauty of alchemy is in the transformation: layered scents that become new expressions of art and unfold the magic of unseen worlds.
There are three recommended layer combinations for A Reason To Love, all designed to bring out different facets of its alluring Rose-Oud blend:
- Amplify richness with Fading Autumn perfumed water. When layered with this water from the collection, the Oud becomes richer and fresher. Cedar and Sandalwood combined with Patchouli enhance the Oud Accord heart of the fragrance, evolving its character with a deeper intensity.
- Magnify sweetness with A Song for the Rose eau de parfum. The pair results in an evolution of this legendary flower, enhancing its honeyed and musky expression.
- Intensify the warmth of A Reason To Love with the Ode on Melancholy perfumed oil. The oil deepens the duo with Cedar, Cypriol, Patchouli, and Sandalwood.
The Campaign
Inspired by the opulent 17th century still life images, the new campaign for The Alchemist’s Garden paints a new story of magic and mastery. The compositions present a feast for the senses–most notably, the garden of imagination from which the collection was born. Captured by photographer Paulette Tavormina, each image sits between two worlds, the visible and the imagined. Outsized bouquets unfurl into scenes of magnificent beauty and unexpected symbols. On a sumptuous banquet table, we find love birds in clouds of petals, butterflies, and hourglasses in eternal transformation.
